We are thrilled to announce that our very own Director of Research Kas Nicholls, has been named as the Young Researcher of the Year in the prestigious 2019 Market Research Society (MRS) Awards.
Having studied Mathematics at the University of Reading and currently learning R (we know, clever stuff…), Kas is a fantastic presenter, regularly hosting webinars and presenting at events such as Measurefest and ThinkStudent. You can check her out here with the Where Are The Students We See primary research-driven webinar.
Following four promotions in four years, Kas has developed Natives’ research capabilities to include brand analysis, portfolio redesign and student analysis and is now a Director of the business. She leads on the National Clearing Survey (NCS) and has helped to secure global research projects including ones helping to shape government policy internationally, most recently in the Atlantic Canada region and for Study in Sweden.
Recognised as the Oscars of the research world, the MRS Awards celebrate the ability to drive innovation, inspire change and deliver results. The judges of the Young Researcher of the Year award said:
“This is always one of the toughest categories to judge – choosing a winner from a shortlist of incredible rising stars in the research sector. The entrepreneurship that Katherine has demonstrated to build an insight team around her makes her an extremely worthy winner.”
Following a glittering awards ceremony at Old Billingsgate, London, Steve Evans, CEO of Natives, said:
“This award is a testament to Kas and her hard work, skill and innovation. Kas is business-minded, brilliant with a research brief and a brilliant team player. She has created and promoted the research function to secure leadership for Natives in the student insight space.”
With the help of Kas and her research team, Natives is a trusted global partner to over 600 institutions, as well as governments and agencies, and is accredited by the Market Research Society.
Steve Evans continued:
“It’s fantastic to have this specialist department in-house and it is Kas and her research team who have made the National Clearing Survey the important and unparalleled student insight resource that it is today.
We’re so proud to have the Market Research Society recognise Kas’ brilliance, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.
